Three neonatal units join the Ickle Pickles Pledge

King's College Hospital London's neonatal unit, Midland Metropolitan University Hospital and Northwick Park Hospital have joined the Ickle Pickles Pledge. Through the initiative, the units will work with the charity to help raise funds for the specialist equipment they need most.

The Ickle Pickles Pledge is a collaborative commitment to proactively fundraise for the intensive and special care equipment neonatal units most urgently need. Through the initiative, the charity works in partnership with units to help them access equipment that improves the health and wellbeing of babies and supports their families.

King's College Hospital London's neonatal unit provides care for babies born before 27 weeks' gestation, with 36 cots available. Ickle Pickles has worked with the hospital since 2018, funding reclining chairs for kangaroo care, developmental care items including baby nests and positioners, and refurbishments to a quiet room and two rooming-in rooms for families preparing to take their baby home.

Midland Metropolitan University Hospital is Ickle Pickles' newest Pledge Partner and has been working with the charity since July 2025. Its 29-cot neonatal unit cares for more than 850 babies each year.

Northwick Park Hospital has a dedicated neonatal unit with 28 cots. In 2025, Ickle Pickles helped fund the refurbishment of the hospital's parent room.
