St Ives Tesco supports baby bonding at Royal Cornwall

Community Champion at St Ives Tesco Kirsty Kilmurry and Store Manager Kevin Phillips have donated Miniboo comforters to the neonatal unit at Royal Cornwall Hospital to help new parents bond with their babies.

Kirsty raised the money by running a Santa's Grotto in December for local children to meet Santa and hand over their Christmas wish list. She made the visit even more special by writing letters back to the children from Santa.

Mother of two Kirsty attended the neonatal unit for her first birth and so felt it was important to say thank you. She says: "The staff work so hard to make you feel comfortable and connected to your child and for a new mum this is so important. Tesco has an overarching charity of the year but we wanted to support something more local. Royal Cornwall Hospital's neonatal unit is the only one within Cornwall and has such a special place in our hearts."

The neonatal unit also means a lot to Store Manager Kevin whose granddaughter spent some time there.
