Medela partners with Ronald McDonald House Charities to support infants in neonatal care

Global breastfeeding brand Medela has announced a partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities in which it will donate Symphony breast pumps to 60 participating Ronald McDonald House programmes in the UK, Australia, China and the USA.

To celebrate Medela’s 60th birthday, the brand is providing everything needed to support breastfeeding families internationally and closer to home. Through Medela Cares, over £3,000 in breastfeeding supplies have been donated to benefit families staying at each of the UK’s 15 Ronald McDonald House programmes. The programmes aim to enable, facilitate and support family-centred care through three core elements: the Ronald McDonald House, the Ronald McDonald Family Room and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, which help families with ill or injured children stay together near to hospitals and health care services to ensure they have access to the medical care their child needs.

Speaking about the donation, Annette Bruls, CEO of Medela worldwide says: “Forty percent of the families served by Ronald McDonald House Charities globally have a child in the neonatal intensive care unit, and we are honoured to work with local programmes to support breastfeeding families.”

Medela Cares is focused on engaging and expanding its role and leading the conversation about women and children’s health, specifically maternal health care.
