Conquest Hospital wins Clean Care Award

The special care baby unit at Conquest Hospital, Hastings, has been announced the first winner of East Sussex Healthcare Trust's Clean Care Award.

The trust's infection prevention and control team has recently introduced the award, for which it will announce winners quarterly. The accolade can be won by any ward, unit or department that has achieved set criteria including no incidences of preventable infections and 10 hand hygiene observations submitted each month.

Infection Prevention and Control Nurse Sammi Foy said: "The award demonstrates a total team effort, and relies on all team members working together for the common goal of providing clean care and preventing avoidable infections."
