Family donates more than £4,000 to RD&E's neonatal unit

A family from Tiverton has raised more than £4,000 for the neonatal unit at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital as a thank you for the care their son received there.

Three-year-old Maximus spent more than 12 weeks on the unit in autumn 2013 after being born at 27 weeks' gestation. As a way of saying thank you to the team that cared for him, Maximus' parents Joanna and Michael embarked on a range of fundraising activities to help support the unit. A team of fundraisers, led by Joanna and Michael, organised an ABBA tribute night, a darts tournament and two skydives, among other activities, raising a total of £4,122.

Joanna, Michael and Maximus recently returned to RD&E to hand over a cheque and find out more about how their donation will be used to benefit families on the unit.
