Kilmarnock neonatal unit receives an owl-standing donation

Staff at the Owl and the Pussycat Nursery in Irvine, Scotland, have raised £450 for the neonatal unit at University Hospital Crosshouse in Kilmarnock by holding a ladies night at Dreghorn Bowling Club.

Staceyjane Hogg, who works at the nursery, used the neonatal unit after the premature arrival of her son and wanted to give something back for the way she and her son were looked after: "Liam was born in August and was nine weeks premature. I just can't thank the staff enough for the care they gave us, and for making it easier to cope with what we were going through. Thanks to everyone who came to the ladies night, it was a great success and lots of fun."

Clinical Midwife Manager Caroline Blake adds: "We are delighted by this generous donation and of course, pleased to see little Liam doing so well."
