BAPM invites comments on its new draft publication

Building Successful Perinatal Teams: A Resource to Support Delivery of the Perinatal Optimisation Pathway is designed to enable perinatal teams to assess their quality context, team interactions, functioning and ways of working and to use this assessment to provide intelligence about culture and readiness for change.

Perinatal optimisation refers to BAPM’s perinatal optimisation care pathway, which is the process of reliably delivering evidence-based interventions in the antenatal, intrapartum and neonatal period to improve preterm infant outcomes. Reliable delivery of the pathway depends on a strong teamworking culture, high quality communication habits and pursuit of common goals within perinatal teams, undertaken within a favourable quality context where the structure and processes support an optimal environment for delivering quality improvement.

BAPM is inviting comments on the draft version of its resource prior to publication of the final document. The deadline for comments is 30 November 2022 and the document and consultation form can be found here: www.bapm.org/resources/building-successful-perinatal-teams-doc
