Royal Oldham installs wall and ceiling panels

A transition room at Royal Oldham Hospital that was previously nicknamed 'the cave' has been given a dramatic facelift with the installation of Relax and View wall and ceiling panels from Wardray Premise Limited.

The range of Relax and View products was designed to help relax patients and provide a more pleasant working environment for staff by creating an illusion of three-dimensional views of the outside world, simulating natural light through walls and ceilings. The light panels are usually used in MRI units to calm patients before a scan.

The unusual order for the NICU was funded by Gill and Matt Ashton, whose son Elijah was born 15 weeks early on the unit.

The Ashton family, ward staff and the Wardray team enjoy a brighter environment in the neonatal transition room.
