Evelina London pilots portable biliblanket to treat jaundice at home

Newborn babies who are affected by jaundice could soon be treated at home with a light-up blanket, following a successful pilot study at a leading children's hospital.

Evelina London Children's Hospital gave parents the portable phototherapy biliblanket to treat their baby's jaundice, and an outreach nurse from the neonatal unit monitored them daily.

The team found that the device was safe, cost-effective and welcomed by parents who were able to bond with their babies in the comfort of their own home.
