National Bereavement Care Pathway to be piloted at 11 sites

New materials, guidelines and training are to be trialled to help improve the care that bereaved parents receive.

Sands, the stillborn and neonatal death charity, is working to produce a National Bereavement Care Pathway

(NBCP) in collaboration with other charities and with the support of the Department of Health and the All Party Parliamentary Group on Baby Loss.

A total of 11 sites in England, chosen to be representative of geography, capacity and specialism, will take part in the trial of the NBCP following the preparation of draft documention.

From October, the sites will work with the project team to understand the impact and the effectiveness of the pathway on improving bereavement care for parents.
